29 - Danger	4/2/98	Second Line When circumstances demand that you be a role-player for the good of the team, there are only two good reasons for attempting to live up to others' expectations. One way is to respond out of your own innate sense that your work contributes to a greater good; the other is to use your labors as a way to ingratiate yourself with those in a more powerful position, so that you can play a greater role in the future. No blame in this.
		Bottom line

Holding together brings success. But high-level teamwork is achieved only when a clear goal is shared by the right players on the right team at the right time. A team forms its relationships in a delicate manner; chemistry is brewed in the vat of shared experiences. Late-comers cannot share the same depth of union as earlier members. Whole-hearted commitment is required for team success.

All successful teams have a shared vision and a leader. If a team's leadership is up to the challenge, the team will prosper. In political and business affairs, just as in basketball, it is hard to win without a strong center.

 

4/2/98  What will be the outcome of working on the book with EC?

This sounds like a positive response but the "moving to Danger" #29  disturbs me:

"The time of Danger can be especially good for inner development. by holding to fixed and virtuous ethics, by maintaining your inner vision and ideals, all things will fall into a steady, tangible perspective.  You will know your relationships to your environment, and in this way you can accomplish your aims.   Although subjective, this perspective is now in accord with the problems facing you."

Question: Asked about whether or not to sell a certain stock:

"Unity takes place when opportunities first arise.  These are important experiences in the development of character.  If you continue to ignore these opportunities you are more and more excluded from your community and rendered ineffectual in terms of influence."

I struggled to interpret this reading but it finally dawned on me what I was being told.  The buying and selling of stocks is an interactive involved activity.   You can't win if you don't play the game. The movement to 45 Assembling/gathering seems to simply reinforce the meaning I've outlined above.

Question: Asked about outcome of meeting with the sponsor tomorrow seeking project approval

I generally am not sure how to interpret answers with this I-ching.  They sound positive and informative but have generally come out to be irrelevant.  I never moved forward with my first question.  We sold the stock 18 months later for a reasonable amount of money (the market top of the prior year) and the project I was asking about here was never approved.  So at this moment I would say an answer of 8 gives no useful information.
