Hexagram #13- Fellowship

Moving to Date 7/13/96 Unchanging - The result of a commitment to your community will develop in you a strong moral fiber. This is the next necessary step in the growth of your character Top Line 21 10/2/98 Fifth Line
The difficulties and obstacles within the situation cause you much sorrow. If you openly express your distress you will find that you generate similar expressions from your fellow man. Together you can overcome the difficult time and there will be much joy in your newfound unityFourth Line 21 10/2/98 Third Line
Unless goals are realigned, no progress can be made and nothing will come of the situation.Second Line Bottom line Fellowship. When communal bonds unite a group of people, great success is possible. But such bonds can develop only when personal interests are subjugated to goals which carry in them the essential virtues of humanity. The broader the basis for action, the greater the good which can be achieved. And conversely, the greater the potential good, the more powerful the support behind it. A spirit of cooperation steadies the boat, but it helps to have a beautiful island to row towards.
Learn to respect the strength in diversity, for a community's true power lies not in its numbers, but in the diverse skills and resources of its members. Just as the stoutest walls are reinforced with many different materials, so the strongest groups allow differences to co-exist inside the whole. With a unified group solidly behind you, even very difficult enterprises can be attempted without great risk.Saturday July 13, 1996

Question: What is my reading for this year
13 changing to 21 - Biting through
This reading in juxtaposition with the reading from July 1996 is interesting. In roughly the January 1997 time frame I began talking to Big software company and then started the job on June 30th 1997. It's been one of the toughest situations in my life, but if I believe the reading for the year then it is only now that I'm coming into the opportunity I came to Big software company to learn. That any thoughts I've had of leaving the company prior to now would have meant I wasn't at the right place at the right time.Note: Given that this was an annual reading I'd say it was dead on the money. In February of 99 I started an assignment that I was basically very happy with and that lead to meeting the manager of the group I work for now and to us relocating to California.
Note 2: The reason to track readings over years is to show the linkage of the two readings above. I asked a question about my future goal and direction and got an answer. Two years later I asked a question as a "signpost" reading and got a similar answer. The two readings should then be read together.
