Hexagram #24 Returning

Thunder over Earth
Moving to Date 12/19/98 Unchanging - Top Line 3/21/04
4/12/07Fifth Line - You are aware of the need for a new beginning and have the courage to make the change. By observing your faults with objectivity and resolution at this time you will gain the strength of character necessary to overcome them 4/12/07 Fourth Line - Your current milieu is inferior your have become aware of the possibility of change and wish to move in that direction. Be aware that your friends may not follow you. Your path could be a solitary one Third Line Those who continually reverse their direction run great risks, and are sometimes thought to be brilliant, but most often are considered merely foolish. Chart a steady course, and move steadily toward your goal. Second Line 4/12/07 Bottom line - a path you are contemplating taking is the wrong one. You will be redirected before you get to far along the wrong path.
There is a turning point which recharges you and eventually brings success. It is associated with a turning of darkness back towards the direction of the light, the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, the day when darkness begins to decrease and the hours of daylight increase. It is the beginning of a turn-around; a time of letting go of the old and making way for the new; a time of new beginnings, and it starts with rest.
Don't move too fast. The new momentum is just beginning; the turn-around demands that your energy be recharged by adequate rest, so that your life-force will not be spent prematurely. This principle of hibernation, of allowing energy to renew itself and be strengthened by rest applies to many situations - recuperation after an illness, the slow return of trust after period of estrangement, the careful development of new relationships after a splitting apart of old ones.
The condition of things in the present is fairly stable. There are no
specific changes indicated right now.24 Returning

Question: Asked about the current outlook for the job situation and got 24 with four changing lines (1,3,4,6). According to one of my books when you have four changing lines the top unchanging line is the one that is read which in this case is 5 ("One returns like a warrior, noble in the recognition of one's mistake but finding no need to change one's attitude.). and the second hexagram would be 3 - difficulties at the beginning."When it is a man's fate to undertake such new beginnings, everything is still unformed, dark. Hence he must hold back, because any premature move might bring disaster. Likewise, it is very important not to remain alone; in order to overcome the chaos he needs helpers. This is not to say, however, that he himself should look on passively at what is happening. He must lend his hand and participate with inspiration and guidance."
If I read it with four changing lines I get 56 the wanderer. I think it's important to pick the right interpretation now. I think I can embrace lots of change (56) or I can put roots down (3) even if I know putting roots down will be a bit of a struggle.
This hexagram also represents the New Moon
Note: I think both of these were true though 56 was a closer answer than 3. The next year and a half was spent working my tail off with very little financial recompense. I essentially didn't earn anything for a year (a dollar here and there but nothing to pay bills). Things did start to turn about in March of 05.
