Dining Room
Feng Shui
The Dining table should be clean and clutter free. Piles of soiled plates and utensils should never be left back after having a meal. A clean and decorated dining table is always a welcome sight accompanied with positive flow of Chi . A pair of candles or a center piece and a bowl of fresh fruits, placed on the dining table ,giving an aesthetic touch and denotes good Feng Shui.
DINING ROOMS
Dining rooms should never be situated on a lower level than kitchens or living rooms. Round tables are preferable to square or rectangular shapes and sideboards should not be arranged in such away that the edges point at the dining table. To create good Feng Shui in this room, you can hang a painting of fruits and food. The dining room should also be well lit at all times to ensure the flow of energy.John just brought home a new centerpiece of the dining room table. It's a bowl that has the same pattern as the wallpaper and we've filled it with fruit and banana leaves
10/03/05 - Just brought home a faux pineapple from South Carolina as the finishing touch to our fruit arrangement. It's actually made out of pinecones which makes it look very realistic.
MIRRORS IN YOUR DINING ROOM
Mirror walls are excellent for the dining area because it is believed that the doubling of food on the dining table symbolizes abundance for the household. In fact, mirrors are extremely useful Feng Shui tools for all sorts of purposes, such as deflecting poison arrows, "extending" tight corners or "missing" sectors, activating Chi flows, and camouflaging sharp angles caused by columns. Mirrors are also excellent for reflecting good luck symbols and beautiful scenery, such as water, rivers or lakes, thus bringing wealth, which is symbolized by water, into the house. Certain rules must be observed, however, when mirrors are used, and you must be aware of the bad effects that mirrors can create if positioned incorrectly. Mirrors should never be placed so low as to have the effect of "cutting off" the heads of the tallest residents. They should not reflect staircases, doors, stoves, or toilets, nor should they ever be used to reflect the main door or any other bouncing the Chi that flows into the house straight out again, Finally, never use mirror tiles.I'm not sure who I feel about a big mirror in the dining room. Since we use it so much as a conference room I'm afraid it might be distracting. Of course Mom, had the dining room wall mirrored long before anyone had heard of Feng Shui in this country.
