Eleventh House Journal Dec 3 -23

 

1990 - Busy time at work.  RR and I went to down to Santa Barbara so I could attend a conference.  It was on masculinity -- Got sick that weekend and couldn't seem to shake it.

 

1999 - Most of the time when I'm not at work I'm desperately looking for a place for us to buy or rent.  The house closes the first of January and we have to have someplace to move into.  We finally found a place to rent when hubby flew out and began looking full time.  It's just a mile as the crow flies from the office and we both hope its big enough to allow us to unpack.  Christmas fell victim to packing. 

2000 - We had so much fun doing this last year that we spent this year packing as well.  The new house in the Pacific Northwest closed around the middle of the month and I moved my air mattress and in started camping out.  As usual Christmas fell victim to packing.

2001 - John's still working in California and I've just started a new consulting project that may turn into something more.  Life feels very unstable right now.

 

2003 - 

I had such plans for a really nice Yuletide this year.  I was going to get the house completely decorated and be organized.  It started off all right and then went to H*** in the proverbial hand basket.  I flew down to California for the weekend at the beginning of the month and then came back to find that Mom was on her way to the hospital.  According to my Calendar Persephone begins her descent into the underworld at this time (December 7th) and it is as Queen of the Dead that she has taken a lead role in my life at this time.  Looking back on things everything about this time came very rapidly.  After the trip to the hospital Mom's health started failing even more than before and we got the recommendation to enroll her in the hospice program.  These people were wonderful and they

2005

Had the great idea that I'd get ready for the holidays early.  We got the first boxes out after thanksgiving BUT John was sick and work was crazy and the time simply passed.  We didn't even have the tree decorated for the annual Solstice dinner.  Overwhelming feeling during this period has been depression, irritation and exhaustion. 

I'm glad we got our holiday decorations last year.  There wasn't much available this year.  OW left today to drive to his new home.  It's been a strange time.  He was a delightful house guest but his four footed companion was a handful.
