Dec 3 -23
Not sure how much there will be here this year. This tends to be a very, very busy time of year
December 3
Met KJ for lunch -- just the usual gossip session
Got a call from a friend about the possibility of a major assignment. I'd be delighted to do it. We'll see how it unfolds. Couple things are interesting here -- one is that it occurred during my house of friends, the other thing is that I couldn't have made this opportunity happen any quicker. To my intense frustration very often I end up getting jobs that simply fall into my lap and I find that nothing happens quite often on the things that I actually commit effort toward. Of course this doesn't mean I'm advocating sitting around doing nothing. Part of why this friend even called is that I've done a tremendous amount of work for him and for his company over the years and most of it has been free of minimally compensated.

Spent the day fighting with software. Downloaded a new reporting package and then found that something seemed off. Turned out it didn't do some of what I expected and then it turned out that what it did do was wrong. I'll actually need to call customer support which is something I never do.
sent my resume to the folks that are trying to secure the contract I mentioned above. This might be a great opportunity.
Week of December 5th
December 5
Got the tree up and started decorating the house.
December 6
Spent the a good part of the day working with a software vendor reviewing the functionality of his tool for a client. Took he and his wife to lunch for his troubles
Talked to the President of the consulting company I might be working for. We had a delightful chat. I've tried to get them to hire me for a couple of years and nothing came of it. We'll see.December 8th
went out and did some shopping to get some storage boxes and pick up a few extra Christmas decorations. Got all the stuff for the gift bags for tonight.
Met RD at the flower shop to get the container and the rest of the flowers he needs for the center piece.
Had our writers meeting - I gave everyone a little gift bag filled with Chocolate.

December 16
Got my hair done at 7:00am. Crazy time but it works for me.
Did some serious shopping for more Christmas decorations. Everything was half off. Also got 4 wreaths for the front of the house. I also put together an interim center piece until RD gets done with the one he's making for me.
Week of December 19
Went to RK annual Christmas open house. Turned out to be more fun that I expect since I had a mild case of the stomach flu.
December 21
Did our annual Solstice dinner. We all threw sticks in the fire and then carried a lit stick into the house to start the new year hearth fire.
