2005 Astrological Outlook

 

Jupiter, the lord of fortune is in Libra and your solar eighth house as the year begins. Money may be a driving concern and opportunities to extend credit facilities or to benefit through investment or inheritance will be there. Push ahead, but don't push too far. It's easy for the Fishes to want too much. If you indulge you'll pay the price but a calculated risk backed by good advice and good support will pay a dividend. Keep a close eye on the eclipse cycle and also the first passage of retrograde Mercury. You would be best advised to err on the side of caution during these periods.

Home and Family  

For some, home life will be subject to change because of changes with vocation or life path. You may have to move or experience unsettlement to find what you are looking for. There may be a separation or an end with a cycle of family involvement. Such an ending will bring a new beginning for this is a transformational cycle that you are involved in. You may still be searching rather than secure as the year gets underway. For some, loved ones will be around but location may be the issue. For others, you may have what you want in terms of security but still be looking for the special someone or the vocation that calls you. If the question is where to live, perhaps it's tied to what you truly want to do.

Warrior Mars turns retrograde in Taurus and your  fourth house on October 1st. As Mars moves backwards, there may be delays or obstruction. There can be frustration with taking action or initiative. Hidden anger may also be an issue.  Some may deal with an errant or angry male. There may be a male member of the family who is impaired with regard to action or movement. This could be a health matter or may pertain to work issues. There may be projects or activities at home that face obstacles or come to a halt. You may simply not be able to advance something that you want to do around the home. There may be sexual issues to face for some while for others there may be a sexual renewal with someone who has been away or out of your life.

Relationships

On May 31st, Saturn, measurer of effort moves into your seventh house. This will bring changes with partnership and make this a potent year for relationships. For some, there will be an increase in responsibilities as you enter a new phase with loved ones. For others there may be a break or separation in a close tie. In some cases, the separation may mark the end of a cycle. You may struggle at times with the commitment this requires but can benefit greatly if you work to understand what the relationship asks of you and how to give that and yet remain an independent being.

If you're in a close relationship, this can be a 'make or break period' as you encounter obstacles or opposition with your loved one. There may be a battle of wills between you or it may simply be that you wish to somehow pursue different courses or that you are called in different directions. If you deal with these matters patiently, you will come through to a stronger situation and a better sense of your bond.

Love and Money  

With Mercury the messenger and Venus the goddess conjoining with Pluto, underworld lord in Sagittarius and your solar eleventh house, friendships and your hopes and dreams will play a big part in both the romantic and financial sides of your life. (mercury leaves the 11th house by January 11th and February 2nd)

Both singles and those with partners can have an exciting time, making new friends or finding new depths to old friendships. New ideals and dreams will call you along the road of life and there will be someone there to walk with you or to guide you. Harmonious aspects from Jupiter to Mercury and Venus indicate that luck and opportunity coming from those you know will play a strong part in your life. Travel, study and fortune generally will broaden your horizon and help you to find the right path in life.  Groups, group work and gatherings will bring you into contact with people who will be important for you and may become close. The Lunar Nodes moving through Aries and Libra will bring interesting and vigorous connections.

Money

Uranus is in Pisces and enters your second house on May 20th where it will remain for approximately seven years. There will be radical shifts with money and many of you will come to a change of fortune over this time, suddenly or unexpectedly. Some will reach new heights while others will level off. Some of you will alter the way you spend money while others will make change to the way you earn it. Some may diversify earning power as others try to consolidate. Uranus brings about reversals and radical shifts. For those who have had little interest in finance in the past, there may be a sudden surge of energy. Thus, some will be inclined to take risks or gamble with money for the first time while the speculators may decide to go down a more conservative road. Some will move away from a material view, taking an interest in creative or spiritual matters, even giving to charitable or humanitarian work. Some will accumulate material possessions while others decide to shed them. Whatever the change, the important thing is that you will view possessions and financial life from a new perspective.

There is a Solar Eclipse on April 8th, coming at the New Moon in Aries and your second house. Watch expenses coming up to this time. Something may balloon out or cost more than you anticipated. You may have to change your spending pattern because of changed earnings. Watch the budget keenly.
 

Work and Health  

Saturn, measurer of effort, is set to finish his run in Cancer and your sixth house of work and health as the year begins. Thus, you have the first five months to get daily routines and general healthcare into order. If you experience health difficulties or changed health conditions, act promptly and seek treatment. One of the important issues here is self-nurture. Be specific, practical and immediate. Put new regimes of healthcare in place, as and when necessary. An increased workload or new line of work may come for some, if it hasn't already. You may be operating in solitary capacity or taking more responsibility than usual. For some, family may be involved with business or work. You need to balance the demands of work with changed healthcare requirements. Don't focus on work at the expense of health. For some, work routines will have to be well structured. For others, there will be a higher organizational content in what you do. Saturn moves to the seventh house on May 31st.
