1988
June 8-22nd -- Flew into Turku in Finland for an IEEE conference. A couple of days in Finland and then took the ferry over to Stockholm. Did Stockholm, then to Norway, then down to Jutland and then finally to Copenhagen, then a train back to Stockholm and then home. Traveling with the wrong person but other than that great trip.
1998
Back from our honeymoon and trying to figure out what I'm going to do next at work. Looks like I have a possible assignment out in California which will at least keep up the illusion that I'm gainfully employed. I'm having serious doubts though as to how well I fit into this company and this culture.

I had a very interesting discussion with RK. He's been with the company for 12 years and even though he himself is a delightful man the Oracle culture as he describes it is such a hostile place. "Career Management at Oracle, we don't do that. We hire them, burn them out, and throw them away. That's career management at Oracle."
Looking back on it there is one overriding difference between Intel and Oracle. Intel was more than willing to burn-up it’s people but it was not acceptable to throw the good ones away. The culture continuously re-enforced that you belonged at Intel that you were part of the company. They wanted your life, your heart and your soul but in exchange for that Mother Intel would take care of you. I’m looking for the other side of the implied contract with Oracle.
1999
In California working on a project. Lots of stuff in motion. Possible job back in Boston. Changes in the company in California. Not a lot of stability
2000
It's never possible to guess how energy will play out in a house on any given year. This year is emphasizing a 5th house/11th house polarity with Mars being retrograde in the 11th house in opposition to Natal Jupiter. A Jupiter- Mars Opposition happens every two year. The significance of this year is the amount of time it will spend within orb (6 months is a pretty long time) taking it from a minor blip to a major deal. Also if that weren't enough Mercury goes retrograde at the same time. YUCK!! To say this has been a terrible time at the office would be an understatement.
Fifth to Eleventh House
The fundamental integration between the ability to give and receive love are the issues highlighted in this axis. The revelation is about what you really expect from life, and how you experience your ‘rewards’. This opposition emphasizes a revolution in the area of what you consider to be creative and useful, and what your actual investment is. You may find a discrepancy has formed in the last two years between your expectations of life’s rewards and what you are actually getting. Thus, it is time to balance out what you do with what you get. Also, your relationships in the social sphere of your life are under scrutiny - you may find yourself necessarily impatient with non productive (or ambivalent) groups, societies, collectives. More time is needed to rebuild your creative core, the essence of your self before you can offer up your strongest ethical position. You may need to do one of either of these things: cut back on ‘volunteer’ energy output into the community or, conversely, put more into the community in your sphere, dwelling less on your own self - depending on where the imbalance lies.
While Mercury is retrograde -- If you are in the process of a project that you have created or that you are overseeing, this is the time to step back and ask what needs to be redefined or reworked before moving forward. And, if there is an area of your life over which you would like to take greater control, analyze the best ways you can imagine to accomplish that goal. Put ideas down on paper and sort through which you think will work the best. As Mercury moves forward, decide which plan/s you have chosen to implement and put them into action.
While Mars is retrograde it's a good time to unearth those long buried grudges and resentments that you've unconsciously been holding onto. Allow them to surface with the assistance of meditation, therapy, body work or just a quiet period of contemplation. Face them and then blow them away in true Martian fashion ridding yourself of all that excess baggage
2002
Every spare second is going into getting the first draft of a class done. Other than that I don't have a life. Also with hubby in California and my client on the east coast I go days without seeing a single human being.
2003
Just a run in place month. Wrote an article, juggled a few balls but nothing monumental.
2004
I was recently going back through journal entries and of course I failed to make a note of the most significant thing that happened during this period. I met someone that I ended up working with for almost a year. I never thought anything would come of it from our first meeting but the relationship was significant even if I didn't want to learn any of the lessons.
2005 A year later the focus is on completely closing out the relationship from the prior year. I've made the decision to go back to work full time and I'm actively pursuing a number of offers.
